COVID19 - For details and updates regarding the COVID 19 Pandemic click here ANNOUNCEMENTS Trenton Water Works Violation Letter - Lawrence residents who receive drinking water from Trenton Water Works will soon receive a required mailing regarding excess levels of HAA5 and TTHM (disinfectant byproducts that form when naturally occurring organic matter combines with disinfectants, such as chlorine, which is added to kill microorganisms). This is NOT  an emergency situation and there is NOTHING FOR RESIDENTS TO DO  (meaning that residents do NOT  need to boil water and do NOT  need to take corrective actions).  Rather, the mailing is required because the public has a right to know about the violations.   For both contaminants, quarterly samples are averaged over a12-month period; and when the average of samples exceed the standard or maximum containment levels, violation notices are required to be sent to all system customers. The attached notice from Trenton Water Works (which customers will receive in the mail) provides further information. Should residents have any further questions, they should contact Trenton Water Works at 609.989.3055. Also see below for information regarding TWW Community Forum. -- Charging Station - Please be advised the Township has set up a FREE charging station at the Lawrence Township Senior Center on Darrah Lane for those resident who have no power and need to charge their cell phones. Special Storm Collection Notice - Due to the damage caused by Hurricane Isaias, brush collection requirements for zone pick-ups are being temporarily suspended. See attached details . Cold Soil Road Work - Beginning Monday July 27, Cold Soil Road between Keefe Road and Van Kirk Road will be closed, Monday through Friday, from 8 am to 4 pm for roadway safety improvements. This work is anticipated to be completed in approximately 2 weeks. Detours will be in place. Road Work - On Monday, August 3, Darrah Lane between 206 and Barnett Road will be alternating traffic due to a gas line project. Workers will be on site between 7:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. for approximately three days. Please use caution in the area Third Quarter Taxes Due - Estimated 3rd Quarter Tax Bills have been mailed and are due August 1, 2020. Payments must be received by 4:30 p.m. on August 10 or a late fee will be applied. PROPERTY TAX PAYMENTS To maintain our municipal operations through this public health crisis and minimize health risk to our employees, when paying your property taxes please do so by check, money order, or our on-line payment option. Should a cash payment be your only option please note the following; beginning Wednesday, April 29, cash payments will only be accepted Mondays (9am – 12pm), Wednesdays (1pm – 4pm) and Fridays (1pm – 4pm), a copy of your tax bill must be presented with payment . Ballot Drawing for 2020 General Election - Due to COVID-19 precautions, the Mercer County Clerk’s Office will again be holding a virtual ballot drawing in anticipation of the 2020 General Election.
